Recently I got really hair restless and decided to get a long, blonde bob. I was sad that my hairdresser wasn’t able to fit me in immediately to do it, and that I had to wait a month! I think I have forgotten how hairdressers work-I let my bleach begin to grow out well over a year ago and only had it cut once since then. The top 8 inches of my hair are totally untouched and in the sun my mousey blonde will lighten up beautifully, so why change it? Well, I never actually do my hair. I never straighten it and I rarely have it down. I look better with hair around my face, so actually the way I’m wearing my hair most days is the most unflattering it could look! I’ve realised that actually putting my hair in a strict style will definitely make me do it every day, but so would forcing myself to do my current hair. Therefore, it would be silly to opt for a cut that requires mega maintenance, upkeep and money, when I could keep my Carrie Bradshaw circa 00s ‘do’ and it won’t cost me anything.
They always say that you should book things like tattoos really far in advance, because you might change your mind. Well, I think maybe it should be the same with hair too.
